Tell Sen. Brownie Carson: "No Red Flag Gun Confiscation!"

Senator Brownie Carson declared that he doesn’t want to hear from his constituents.

After delivering petitions from Maine people against Red Flag Gun Confiscation Orders, Senator Brownie Carson refused to accept the petitions from his constituents and said he didn’t want them. He is also a co-sponsor of the Red Flag bill.

He wrote on the envelope containing the petitions from his constituents, “Please don’t give me any more of this. -Brownie

But it is the sacred trust of all legislators to consider the wishes of their constituents and all Maine people, so lets DOUBLE DOWN.

Senator Brownie Carson says he doesn't want any more petitions, but it is the sacred trust of all legislators to consider the wishes of their constituents and all Maine people...

So let's send Senator Carson a message LOUD and CLEAR: he cannot ignore the Maine people. The right of the people to keep and bear arms "shall never be questioned!"

Petition to Senator Brownie Carson:
"No Red Flag Gun Confiscation!"

WHEREAS, you, Senator Brownie Carson, as a representative of the people in a constitutional republic, have a sacred trust to listen to and consider the will of your constituents; and

WHEREAS, you violated that sacred trust by refusing to receive petitions from your own constituents opposed to "Red Flag" Gun Confiscation, declaring that you didn't want any more of them; and

WHEREAS, you have co-sponsored LD 1312 to strip innocent Maine people of their legally owned firearms with no notice and ZERO due process through Gun Confiscation Orders; and

WHEREAS, upon taking office, you swore an oath to uphold the Constitution of the State of Maine; and

WHEREAS, your proposal for Red Flag Gun Confiscation Orders violates the Declaration of Rights of the Maine State Constitution, which states that "No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law..." (Article I, Section 6-A), and "Every citizen has a right to keep and bear arms and this right shall never be questioned" (Article I, Section 16); and

WHEREAS, a Gun Confiscation Order in the state of Maryland has already resulted in the death of an innocent gun owner, 61-year-old Gary Willis, when government agents came to his home early in the morning and demanded he surrender his firearms; and

WHEREAS, the State of Maine is currently ranked the safest state in America (with the #1 lowest violent crime rate) and also maintains strong legal protections for the individual right to keep and bear arms (including Constitutional Carry), "Red Flag" Gun Confiscation Orders and other gun control proposals are both unnecessary and potentially detrimental to the safety of Maine people;

THEREFORE, I urge you, Senator Brownie Carson, to publicly apologize for violating the sacred trust of the people by refusing to receive petitions from your constituents; and

THEREFORE, I urge you, Senator Brownie Carson, to rescind your support for unconstitutional Red Flag Gun Confiscation Orders; and

THEREFORE, if you continue to violate your oath of office to uphold the Maine Constitution by trampling on the rights of the people, I urge you, Senator Brownie Carson, to resign from office.

I am ashamed of your actions of refusing your constituents partitions. Your only honorable action now would be to resign from your elected office and let someone who truly cares about our great state of Maine step into your place.

I know you feel I am not a “constituent” of yours, however, you do represent Maine and I live in Maine. Whatever you do and however you vote affects me, so please know that you represent not just your immediate area but the whole state. We believe in the right to have guns and do not believe our neighbors should the ability to take them away just because they may disagree with us for some reason. Please show us that you are stable and would be able to handle a gun safely in the future – vote for the citizens rights in the future.

We have a right to bear arms and your view is most disheartening, There is a reason our founding fathers put that in the constitution. Its to protect us from a tyrannical government. Dismissing your constituents was most displeasing to hear of.

This bill is so bizarre especially to think it was created in the state of Maine.

It states one thing Anti-American and globally funded. Absolutely unacceptable.

Shame on you sir. Maine is one of the safest states in the union. There is a very low instance of gun violence of this nature in our state. Your efforts should be focused on improving mental health care not the elimination of due process.

Up hold the constitution of Maine or resign. People of your ilk do not represent the people of this state. Your refusal to review the petitions of the citizens of this state are a slap in the face of all Mainers, your district or not.

Federalist 46. Read it. If you can’t either understand nor uphold “Shall not be infringed”, you have no business in government

You have proven that Democrats are a bunch of pompous, petty tyrants. You can bet that I will be working to make sure you and the rest of the elitist slime are voted out of office NEXT YEAR. Keep it up comrade, you are waking up more people than I ever could.
